Stencils and Gelli printing with e Bond

This workshop is great for students who have taken the Mark Making with Gelli Plates session or anyone who has done some printing on their own. We will explore making our own stencils, creating multi-layer mono prints, and thinking about more complex compositions. I’ll bring a bunch of commercial stencils and supplies for us to make our own stencils as well. Students are encouraged to bring (not mandatory): If you own gelli plates of any size, or stencils feel free to bring them. Also feel free to bring any and all papers you feel might be fun to experiment with. There will also be a bunch of gel plates available to use if you don’t have one. They are also available to purchase from the MightyMighty store.

 A materials fee of $15 will cover the paint, paper and any other supplies used during the class. (Bring cash, or Venmo the instructor during the class.) BIO: e bond is an artist, bookbinder, writer, and designer currently living in Richmond, CA. Under the studio name roughdrAftbooks—created in 2003—she creates artists’ books, handmade journals and mixed media pieces that blur the boundaries of art, craft, design, and poetry. 
e holds an MFA in Book Art & Poetry from Mills College. Her work has been featured at The San Francisco Center for the Book, in Anthropologie stores, the Berkeley Poetry Review, & 500 Handmade Books.
