Recordings of a Visual Discography draws from Sudie Akossiwa Wentling’s Togolese-American identity and her lived experiences on both sides of the Atlantic. The collection moves between photography and mixed-media collage, with the photographs serving as single tracks, capturing fleeting moments. The collages are conceived as full albums, layering portraits, architectural forms, and cultural symbols to chart chapters of her life through the lens of a bicultural upbringing. Together, the works form a visual discography in which Sudie taps into core memories and conjures up remixes of nostalgia.
