Join professional perfumer Lakenda Wallace for a hands-on journey into the art of natural perfumery. In this immersive workshop, you’ll explore a wide range of natural extracts, essential oils, botanical tinctures, and natural isolates while discovering your own scent preferences through guided exploration. Along the way, you’ll learn the fundamentals of perfume creation, blending techniques, and how to craft balanced formulas. With expert instruction and access to premium natural ingredients, you’ll have the opportunity to design and blend your own signature fragrance. By the end of class, you’ll leave with a custom 15ml bottle of perfume—a one-of-a-kind scent created entirely by you. Materials fee to be paid directly to instructor day of class for 30.00. BIO: Lakenda Wallace, the creative mind behind Oakland’s Modern Peasant perfume brand. Lakenda is an alchemist perfumer who masterfully blends fresh herbs, flowers, and aromatherapy to craft exquisite multi-layered perfumes and room scents. A true storyteller, Lakenda uses her aromatic creations to challenge conventional beauty standards. She has served as a Board Member for the Institute for Art and Olfaction and twice as a judge for the internationally renowned Olfaction Awards. She has had her work included in olfactive art exhibits including Nose Music, a musically-inspired perfume sample kit by DubLabs, Scent + Memory at the Institute of Art + Olfaction, and Ten Encounters: The Meeting of Ochun + Ogun, at Olfactory Keller Art, NYC.
