Visual Journal Workshop with Aizik Brown
March 8th 12:00 - 4:00 Sunday
more about this class
This workshop invites you to explore visual journaling as a personal and creative practice. Using a sketchbook for self-expression and artistic play, you'll experiment freely in a supportive, open-ended environment. Through guided prompts and mixed-media techniques, you’ll develop a sustainable habit of sketching or journaling. You’ll work with materials like pen, watercolor, acrylic, collage, and pastels, incorporating found objects, text, and layering techniques to create dynamic pages. Along the way, you’ll explore overcoming creative blocks, balancing composition with spontaneity, and weaving personal themes into your work. Whether you're new to visual journaling or deepening your practice, this workshop offers a welcoming space to explore, reflect, and create. BIO: Aizik Brown is a Black and Mexican intuitive visual artist and educator based in San Francisco, CA. His work blends painting, drawing, and digital illustration, incorporating elements of graffiti, cartoons, and nature. Guided by intuition, he approaches art with a sense of spirituality, peace, and openness, using color, texture, and brushstrokes to express his emotions with full vulnerability. Embracing the creative flow, he selects his materials instinctively, allowing each piece to take shape in the moment.
