The Art of the Tablescape: Layer, Bloom & Set the Mood In this hands-on workshop, you’ll learn how to create thoughtful, beautifully layered tablescapes that feel as good as they look. Whether you're hosting a gathering or just love a well-set table, this class covers the basics with a creative twist. We’ll start with a walkthrough of two finished tablescapes and break down the process—from selecting linens and layering tablecloths, runners, and placemats, to mixing vintage and modern dinnerware in a way that feels intentional, not mismatched. You'll learn simple ways to add height, color, and avoid the usual table-setting clichés. Next up: flowers. Watch a floral centerpiece come together using fresh blooms and learn a few tricks for arranging a piece that feels full and fresh without being fussy. Then we’ll move into the details: how to place glassware, cutlery, and napkins in a way that’s both elegant and easy. We’ll also explore personal touches like herb-tied napkins, mini plate bouquets, or handwritten place cards—small details that make a table feel extra special. Finally, we’ll look at lighting and ambiance: candles, string lights, and tiny elements that help the table feel warm and welcoming, not overly styled. You’ll leave with fresh ideas and the confidence to pull together a table that reflects your style and invites people to linger. BIO: My art delves beyond the personal to scrutinize the myth of the American dream, probing into questions of identity, evaluating the evolving roles of women in our society - establishing a thought-provoking dialogue between popular culture and fine art. As an artist, my aim is to evoke these 3 things: thought, emotion, and dialogue through my work, encouraging viewers to explore beneath the surface, questioning and re-evaluating their perceptions of societal constructs and personal narratives. Through tablescapes and mixed media art I bring these ideas and pracitces.
