April 5th Saturday 1:00 - 5:00

more about this class

Making Good Messes: Session One These process-based studio workshops are open to all skill levels and focus solely on the joy of creating—no ulterior motives or expectations for a finished product. Instead, you’ll leave with a head full of ideas, fresh questions, and plenty of inspiration to enrich your daily studio practice. This session is ideal for artists looking for a few hours of playful experimentation, those who feel intimidated by the blank page, and beginning printmakers seeking a fun, accessible introduction to monoprinting. We’ll use gelli plates to create quick, no-pressure monoprints on various types of paper, using simple marks and symbols to explore the magic of spontaneous making. Students are encouraged to bring: If you own gelli plates or rubber brayers of any size, bring them, the more the merrier. Also, bring any papers you feel might be fun to print on. There will also be a bunch of gel plates available to use if you don’t have one as well as ones available to purchase from the MightyMighty store.

A materials fee of $10 will cover the paint, paint markers, and any paper used during the class.
(To pay the materials fee bring cash, or Venmo the instructor during the class.) BIO: e bond is an artist, bookbinder, writer, and designer currently living in Richmond, CA.
