more about this class
Handmade Banner Workshop: Crafting Messages of Change Banners have long been a powerful tool for activism, storytelling, and collective expression. In this hands-on workshop, we’ll draw inspiration from the history of peace campaigns and social justice movements to create our own handmade banners using recycled fabric and bold felt lettering. Whether you want to craft a personal mantra, a statement of solidarity, or a call for change, you’ll have the freedom to design a banner that speaks to you. This workshop is a chance to slow down, engage in meaningful creativity, and leave with a one-of-a-kind piece infused with purpose. No sewing experience is necessary—just bring your voice and vision. BIO: I am a multi discipline visual artist and designer based in the Bay Area. I am a lifelong thrift and flea market scavenger and find joy in reimagining old or discarded textiles into wearable pieces of art.
