more about this class
Discover the art of designing stunning centerpieces that reflect your unique creative voice. In this workshop, you'll not only learn essential techniques but also gain insight into Max's sources of inspiration, creative journey, and evolving style to help refine your own approach. Max's signature method is deeply rooted in natural processes, featuring specialty blooms and rare botanicals sourced from local growers. Using a limited palette and minimal elements, we’ll focus on building a strong spatial foundation—skills that can be scaled from centerpieces to more complex floral installations. There is a 35.00 materials fee paid directly to the artist the day of class via Venom or cash. BIO: Max Gill is a Berkeley, California-based floral designer and artist. His botanically-inspired aesthetic informs his designs at Max Gill Design where he offers full floral services for weddings, special events and private clients such as Alice Waters, Michael Pollan and Lauren McIntosh. Inspired by what he observes in the natural world, Max’s practice is distinguished by his reliance on specialty blooms and botanical rarities gleaned from local growers and nurseries, and his own cut flower garden in North Berkeley. Informed by natural process, and a long list of bay area nurseries.
