March 9th Sunday 1:00 - 4:00
more about this class
This hands-on workshop introduces participants to the fundamentals of linocut printmaking, including essential carving techniques, best practices, and printing methods. We'll begin with a brief exploration of printmaking’s role in activism—both locally and globally—before diving into the creative process. Participants will carve and print their own 5x7 "Call to Action" series, using printmaking as a tool for expression and advocacy. Not confident in your drawing skills? No problem! Printmaking is a versatile and accessible art form that allows for tracing and adaptation. A curated library of powerful imagery will be available for inspiration and reference. This workshop embraces the spirit of Artivism—a fusion of art and activism—where creative expression becomes a catalyst for social and political change. Through print, we amplify voices, challenge norms, and inspire action. A materials fee of 20.00 will be paid directly to the artist the day of the workshop.
